Frequently Asked Questions

How are students placed in classes?
  • Students are placed in classes based on their age. The curriculum taught in each class is designed around the suggested age range of the class. This placement is determined through discussions with parents or guardians.
How does the registration process work?
  • Registration is completed on a first come, first serve basis. Parents can register for classes on our website or in person at the art school.
Are payment plans available for the full semster of after school art classes?
  • There are 3 payment options - (1) pay in full; (2) half deposit at registration, half charged at a specified later date; (3) 1/4 deposit, 3 remaining payments to be paid at specified later dates.
Are supplies provided for the art classes? Is there an extra fee to cover supplies?
  • Yes, supplies are provided in all classes. There is a one-time supply fee per session, which is paid at the beginning of the semester.
Is there a sibling discount available?
  • Yes, there is a 15% sibling discount for all classes.
How many Students are in each class?
  • Classes are limited to 10-12 students, depending on the specific class.
What if my child enrolls mid-session?
  • Students enrolling mid-session will only pay for the remaining classes. The supply fee will also be reduced accordingly.
Can my child switch classes during the semester?
  • Yes, if your schedule changes or if the class your child is in is too hard/easy, students may move to a more suitable class if there is space available.
What happens if my child misses a class?
  • Unfortunately, there are no makeup classes if a student misses a class for any reason. However, teachers will do their best to help the student catch up on what they missed.
What if Katy Art School cancels a class?
  • If Katy Art School cancels a class, a makeup class will be scheduled at a later date.
  • What should students wear to class?
  • It’s recommended that students wear comfortable clothing that they don't mind getting messy, as art classes may involve the use of paints and other materials that cannot be washed out of clothes. We provide aprons.
Should my child bring a snack to class?
  • No, we prefer no food be brought into the classrooms.
Does Katy Art School host birthday parties?
  • No, Katy Art School does not currently host birthday parties.
